General Questions
- Is Chores free to use?
- Chores is free to download and use for basic chore tracking. Premium features like contribution statistics, rewards, and advanced charts require an optional subscription. The free version lets you create chores, share with household members, and track completions.
- How does the subscription work?
- Chores offers monthly and yearly subscription options for premium features. Only one household member needs to subscribe - everyone in the household benefits. You can start a free trial before committing, and cancel anytime through the App Store.
- What devices does Chores support?
- Chores is available for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later. An Android version is planned for the future but not currently available.
- Can I use Chores offline?
- Chores requires an internet connection to sync with your household members. You can view your chores offline, but completing them or making changes requires connectivity to ensure everyone stays in sync.
- Is my data secure?
- Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We don't sell your data or show ads. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app.
- How do I delete my account?
- You can delete your account directly from the app in Settings. This permanently removes your profile, household memberships, and all associated data. Any households you created will need a new owner, or they'll be deleted too.
Household & Sharing
- Can multiple people share and use Chores together?
- Yes, Chores supports household sharing. You can invite family members or roommates to join your household, and everyone can view, complete, and track chores together in real-time.
- How do I invite someone to my household?
- You can invite people via email or by sharing a QR code. Just go to your household settings, tap "Invite," and choose your preferred method. They'll need to download the app and create an account to join.
- How many people can be in a household?
- There's no limit to household members. Add as many people as you need - parents, kids, grandparents, roommates, or anyone else who shares your space.
- Can I be in multiple households?
- Yes, you can belong to multiple households. This is handy for kids of separated parents, people with vacation homes, or anyone managing chores in multiple locations. Each household has its own chores and tracking.
- What if a household member leaves?
- You can remove people from your household at any time. Their completion history stays in the household records, but they'll no longer have access to view or complete chores.

- How is Chores different from a regular to-do app?
- Unlike general to-do apps, Chores is designed specifically for recurring household tasks. It features flexible recurrence schedules, household sharing, contribution tracking with charts, and a built-in rewards system - all features tailored for managing shared responsibilities.
- Can I set custom recurring schedules?
- Yes, Chores supports highly flexible recurrence. You can set tasks to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or at any custom interval like every 3 days, every 2 weeks, or every 4 months.
- What are rewards in Chores?
- Rewards are incentives you can attach to chores. Set a reward to unlock after a chore is completed a certain number of times. Rewards can be for individuals or for the whole household working together. Great for motivating kids or gamifying household tasks.
- Can I see who did what?
- Every chore completion is logged with who did it and when. With premium, you get beautiful contribution charts that show the breakdown over time - perfect for settling "who does more" debates with actual data.
- What if I need to skip a chore temporarily?
- You can snooze any chore for a day, a week, or a custom period. Life happens - vacations, busy weeks, or unexpected events. Snoozing lets you pause without losing your schedule.
- Do I get reminders?
- Yes, Chores sends push notifications to remind household members when chores are due. You can customize notification timing per chore and opt out of specific notification types in your settings.
- Is there a weekly summary?
- Yes, Chores sends an optional weekly email roundup every Sunday. It includes a summary of completions, upcoming chores, your household leaderboard, and your personal streak. You can opt out in notification settings.
